Greetings From the Editor
Looking back over my first 6 months working on ACCR, I am grateful to the Associate Editors and journal peer reviewers who have contributed to the journal’s success, furthering our mission of publishing high-quality, educational case reports and vignettes. Because of their commitment, we can boast that ACCR has an expeditious turnaround time, averaging approximately 1.8 weeks from initial submission to first decision, and 15.7 weeks from initial submission to final publication!
In addition to publishing case reports and commentaries, in 2021 we will also be expanding our submission categories to include visual vignettes (formerly published in Endocrine Practice), editorials, and new categories coming soon, such as video vignettes and more.
We are also pleased to announce another great milestone for the journal. As most readers know, ACCR is now indexed in PubMed Central (PMC). We are excited to report that ACCR has also been accepted for inclusion in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). This addition will greatly enhance our journal readership to the clinical endocrinology community at large, which has already grown since we have moved to Elsevier’s Science Direct platform. In the first quarter of 2021, ACCR articles were downloaded approximately 41,600 times.
We remain focused on creating a diverse and inclusive journal editorial board for ACCR and encourage all qualified and interested members to volunteer as peer reviewers for the journal, which could lead to a position on the ACCR Editorial Board. Volunteers interested should contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
This year will mark AACE’s 30th Annual Meeting, from May 26-29, 2021. This virtual meeting offers great educational sessions and a full virtual abstract program with e-poster presentations. This year, we received more than 350 abstracts; out of those, 226 case reports were accepted for presentation. The ACCR editorial office in collaboration with AACE annual meeting and scientific abstract review committee will select the top 10 abstracts for full case report submissions, which will be given a special discounted article processing charge rate.
Our commitment to our readers remains one of our highest priorities. We would love to hear from you on any suggestions. We invite you to share your work with us. Visit https://www.editorialmanager.com/aaceccr/default.aspx to submit your manuscript and more information about the journal.
